The students in both 7th and 8th Grades will be doing their Social Studies presentatins to the class this week. The topics are “World War 2″ for the 8th , and “Early U.S. History” for the 7th.

     After their presentations, the 8th Graders will be going back to the 1950s. They have already been doing artwork for our classroom, and our follow-up discussions will revolve around the culture of the U.S. during that decade. It will be a bit like Michael J. Fox!

        We are set to welcome the season of Lent. Instead of “giving up” something for Lent, we have decided that we will practice random acts of kindness in school and in our homes. We believe that by doing a kind gesture to another person or by just picking up a piece of garbage on the floor , we “give up” our pride and offer our humility to the Lord. Hopefully, with God’s grace, we will be able to nurture the kindness within us and make it front and center of our character.

Science The scope of our Science class is as follows: Life Science ( Cell Theory, Genetics,Ecosystems, etc) Earth Science  (Continental Drift, Plate Tectonics, minerals and rocks, weather and  climate, Solar System , etc) Physical Science ( matter, chemical changes, forces and energy, waves and sound, etc.)

Math The scope of our Math class is as follows: Number Sense Operations (whole numbers and decimals) Expressions and Equations Integers Number theory and Fractions Data and Statistics Geometry Ratio, Proportion, and Percent Measurement
