My name is Ms. Sullivan and I am teaching 7th and 8th Grade Language Arts/Reading for the 2016-2017 school year. Classes will meet once a day, 5 days a week, in Room 301.
We are more than 3/4 of the way through our Vocabulary Workshop Books building our vocabulary every week. Students have begun working with a Student Study Team to increase understanding by teaching and helping each other! Also, since research has proven that more time spent reading leads to higher academic achievement overall, students are reading monthly independent reading books of their choice.
7th Grade is currently reading the play The Crucible. This unit began with a lesson covering background information about the Salem witch trials and a review of genre and vocabulary.
8th Grade will soon begin working on a review of their summer reading book To Kill a Mockingbird. The Class of 2017 has also started work on our yearbook The Graduate!
