Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
May the Peace of the Lord be with You,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you, as well as share my excitement about my appointment as the new principal of Saint Aloysius Elementary Academy. I am truly honored to join a vibrant school community that is focused on positive student outcomes, and instructional excellence. I look forward to establishing spiritual and collaborative partnerships with all parents, guardians, educators, and community members.
As I take on the role of principal of Saint Aloysius Elementary Academy, it is important for you to learn more about who I am and what my goals are for our school. I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and moved to Rockland County, New York when I was 5 years old. In my adult life, I then moved to the Poconos in Pennsylvania.
My career in education spans 20 years. I come from a family of educators, so I have been around this profession all my life. I spent 7 years teaching in a middle school, became a vice principal in a Catholic school in Jersey City and later advanced to become a principal in a Catholic school in Florida. I come to St. Aloysius Elementary Academy with a wealth of experience in school administration.
Lifelong learning is my passion and I am looking forward to growing professionally through collaboration with all in our school community. I promise to continue to support the commitment to excellence that the Saint Aloysius Elementary Academy has established. I will be your strongest educational and spiritual advocate as we continue to soar to greater heights and ensure that our students are successful in reaching their goals
After all the emotional ups and downs of remote and virtual learning, shelter at home, and children’s worlds being turned upside down...we are all committed to learning more than EVER! We are positively charged for our upcoming 2020-2021 school year. We know that you have made the choice to send your child to St. Aloysius, where, we educate the entire child- mind, body, and soul. We are honored that you have entrusted your child to our care.
As we prepare for the 2020-2021 school year, I urge you to register your child if you have not already. As a father of 5 children, I do understand that during these uncertain times it is difficult to picture normalcy anytime soon. I can assure you that Saint Aloysius will continue to have the same academic standards whether students are learning in the classroom or remotely. The teachers and I will work together to ensure every child receive the best educational experience possible. In the upcoming weeks, I will be sending you detailed information about the re-opening of school for the 2020-2021 school year.
It is my honor to have the opportunity to serve this community as principal of St. Aloysius Elementary Academy. I look forward to immersing myself in our school and community. My main responsibility is to prepare our teachers to be in the best possible position to succeed, as this will place our children on a path to succeed. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share. I believe strongly in an open-door policy. May God bless you and I look forward to meeting you soon.
Blessings,
Mr. Jorge L. Rivera
Principal
